COOL

Being a Coolhunter is not just about high sensibility and intuition. A coolhunter has to go through a training process, as well as have quite a broad knowledge about style evolution, history of clothing, art, design, have some photography skills and knowledge on surfing the web, blogs, and social networks, since nowadays the internet plays such an important role in our society.

A Coolhunter is someone who has a high sensitivity and intuition for detecting and sensing emerging trends. Therefore, a Coolhunter is constantly looking for trends everywhere: in the streets, at flea markets, parks, clubs, public events and so forth. They not only detect and research emerging trends, but also patterns that are about to become one, trends that are in their highest peak, or curious or distinct items that stand out or that show individualism.

HUNTING

"Coolhunters contribute to change"

Trends do not concern just fashion and clothing. It covers everything from different types of lifestyles, your daily routine, consumption patterns, phenomenon’s that occur within cultures, which eventually evolve into a trend, as well as a variety of fields such as tourism, agroindustry, and beauty among others.

To sum it all up, cool hunting studies and observes the different dynamics and associations within a person’s daily life, in order to stimulate and contribute change.

I was part of a group of “Coolhunters”, which were chosen and trained by the Future Concept Laboratory from Milan and The Bogota Chamber of Commerce, in order to create the “Observatorio De Tendencias De Bogota”(Bogota Trends Observatory). This observatory was created to help different fields on the Colombian industry to be more attractive and profitable for foreign companies throughout our trend and marketing research, as well as highlighting the uniqueness of our people and culture through photography. This experience has been most enriching one, being a cool hunter has change the way I think and see things.

My Experience

Since I participated in the observatory I am more aware of the things that surround me; both the very evident ones and that the human eye just automatically knows its there, as well as those talent things around us that one-way or another are emerging. To sum it all up, I am pretty much human radar nowadays
